Mid-week getaway - Glenelg!

We (me and the very cool Malaysians I met here) didn't have any orientation on Wednesday, so we decided to give Glenelg a visit! Actually the whole plan was very last minute, only decided to go the afternoon before the actual day. hahahaha Then the others claimed I dropped a sudden 'bomb' and gave them no time to prepare. Whalao..

Because of that they had to eat Maggi for lunch, while I packed some biscuits and tuna and apples .... as my lunch =___=

Yes, this sounds healthy but the rest of my meals are not hahahaha

Took a tram down to the city, then hopped on the tram. Glenelg is the last stop!

The weather forecast for the day was that it would be cloudy, with chances of rain. But it didn't rain in the end!! YAY! But it was very hot lah (UV T___T) BUT I sacrificed some freckles for some nice pictures. Okay, fair enough.

So when you get off the tram, this is what you'll see.

NICE OR NOTTTTT?

Glenelg is a beach-side suburb, which is about 10km from Adelaide city itself. It's very very easy to get there by tram and by bus. We took the tram this time and the journey was about 30 minutes. There are many hotels located along the beach line, pretty nice housings further down. Opposite the tram stop there are many shops and cafes where you can just chill and let the sea breeze bring you to paradise. I WANT TO LIVE THERE!!

We cool! It was so sunny AND windy

Settled down under a tree to have our lunch. Then came the massive photo snapping sessions. How can you not snap photos on a day like this? The sky was so nice can't imagine!!!

Apa pose saya buat? =_____=

Later on we talked down to the sand!!! WAH SUPER NICE THE SAND SO SOFT AND FLUFFY AND CLEANNNN!!!!

Seriously. I was in awe. It's like, you get stunned and couldn't keep your eyes off the sea, sand and sky for 30 seconds, just let your heart soak in the view. That kind of awe. You feel so small when the world has so much to offer.

Wah why so happy my face?
See the sky so nice!!

Growing up, I always went to the beach. And I didn't think I'd like the beach this much. Maybe I took it for granted. Just looking at the waves made me so happy. Made me feel like I'm home. So cannot tahan lah must take off slippers and jump in. Cold also die die wanna soak my feet in the water. At least once, once.

If it wasn't so cold I would have already went for a swim =____=

#failphoto

The waves are really big here!

Later walked to the part of Glenelg where people park their private yachts/ boats/ waterpartyhouse/ idontknowwhattheyrecalled.

Got a little hungry so we went to a place for chocolate fondue called Bracegirdle's! Okay did a little research (plus insider info from my cousin HAHA) and turns out that this place is also famous for its waffles!! AND I DIDN'T TRYYYYY!! *bangsheadontable*

THE CHOCOLATES LOOKED SOOOOOO NICE!!! BUT THEY'RE AUD$2 PER PIECE NUUUUU (Sorry I dare not take picture ah. What if I take already then they ask me to buy T___T)
wait till I get a job here I'm gonna spoil myself #whatiwantforchristmas

That's the fondue for 2 persons to share (AUD$22.50), then ice chocolate and hot chocolate respectively. Bracegirdle's specializes in chocolates by the way, so their menu is all chocolate chocolate and chocolate!

We so cheapo hahaha 4 person share one plate for 2 -.-

They also have muffins and cakes!

Took more pictures on the beach after that. I cannot resist and ended up getting sunburnt (I think). But I did slap generous generous amounts of sunblock ah. But then I still think I can't beat the UV here lah. I still feel the tingle underneath the epidermis of my face right now. But I don't think it was as bad as my pulau trip last year lah.

 Beach Volleyball *drools*
I got a chance to play there. With the locals, but instead of using a volleyball we used a small football. Super hard to move on the sand (pfffft. excuses. Unfit person is unfit)

 #abbyspostcardshot

Underneath the jetty.

Sometimes in movies when the actors/actresses have scenes under the jetty I'd be like, 'Who wants to go under the jetty so dirty and rusty'

Hello. This trip changed my mind. It's not dirty. Nor rusty.

It's over the top cool.

You feel like you are on top of the world when in fact you are under a jetty =__=

What am I talking about? I also dunno!!!

On the jetty.
I know I'm like, super perasan but then I really feel like my pictures are really nice. HAHAHA not because they're my pictures, but because the scenery is just so breath-taking!!

Our God is an awesome God. Look how nice He painted the skies for us. Thank You, for giving me an opportunity like this to feel blessed!

End with a picture I started.

Wanted to catch the sunset but then it was already quite late! I think this last shot was taken at 7pm hehehe We arrived Glenelg at about 2pm? Spent 5 hours there, enough? No.

I wanna go back again.

After this week my classes in uni will start. Probably will have less chances of sight-seeing and roaming around but I will try to keep this blog updated!

*******

Okay remember I promised a picture of the best Fish & Chips in SA that we had in Victor Harbour? Here it is!!

This is the butterfish. Mine was the barramundi. Both taste equally splennnndid! The Somersby Pear Cider is a bonus! :)

If you haven't read my Victor Harbour post, click here!

Victor Harbour

Yes! The photos are finally done uploading!!

The uni brought us to a Victor Harbour trip during the welcome week. We had to pay AUD$15 for it, but it's okay lah considering that it's quite far from the city and we are actually visiting 2 places! #cheapo I think I will be even more cheapo when I am here gaaaaaah

Before Victor Harbour, we dropped by Urimbirra Wildlife Park, located just 5km from Victor Harbour. It's an open range park so all the kangaroos are happily jumping around the entire park!

During my previous visit to Adelaide, I have already been to Victor Harbour so the main reason why I joined this trip was to go to the wildlife park -.- hahaha It's not as big as the Halls Gap zoo but it was definitely fun playing with the kangaroos (no they didn't box me)

No I didn't see this again this time! This was back in 2012 in Halls Gap. You can read my post here if you haven't! Peacocks in this park were less show-off hahaha

Instead we were greeted by this feathery creature.

ohai.

Barbary sheep chilling under the tree.
I DID NOT WANT TO GO NEAR THIS SHEEP. The last time I did I smelt like a sheep/goat the entire day!! I think it's their saliva or wool I don't know but I just let it be there... chillin'. hahaha

All of us were given a pack of kangaroo food to feed them!

Pretty fun actually. But we had to make sure not to step on any of the landmines... kangaroo poop everywhere people =__=

wheeeeeee so close!

Last time I only got to pet them like this

Wah just realized that I wore the same jacket and shoes -.- I have a serious problem when it comes to throwing away my clothes/shoes. I wear them forever until they can't bear my weight anymore HAHAHA

So close you can even take a kangaroo selfie!

He has got to teach me how HAHAHAHA this is high-level selfie, people.

Looks like Harry Potter's owl!

The zoo's OTP

Kangaroo's are pretty aggressive hahaha they snatched the pack of food from our hands and tore the paper bag into pieces -.- When they find no food they just ate the bag. Indigestion lah later... hehe

OTP and human lightbulb lalalala

Roamed the zoo with these cool people. All of them are from West Malaysia, all in year 2 of uni. hehehe I feel so offside typing this.
(See I am wearing the same jacket and shoes -.-)

Eagle standing tall.
Would be so nice to see it flying but it didn't!! It's cage is not enclosed one so yessss it can fly out

I is finally saw them koalas.
Hello, furball.
There were koala shows at certain times of the day but I missed it!! Oh well....

But I met the cute puffy animal again!!

Wombat, Y U SO CUTEEEEE???

Okay lah wombats still can't beat my love for zebras but I guess they are second on my list :P Even though I said they're my favourite back in Halls Gap. SORRY SORRY. You guys are still very very cute. But Zebras are just too sexy. heheheh

'so you mean I am not sexy?'

Okay. Okay. You win, kangaroo! You win lah...

Chickens from my backyard the zoo. They look like chickens back home, don't they?

After the park we continued our journey by bus to Victor Harbour. First thing we did there was fill our tummies. WITH WHAT?

THE BEST FISH & CHIPS IN SA!!!

(but okay super fail blogger my picture of fish & chips look very horrible!! Will post up a decent one once I steal from the others who managed to snap a picture)

Then we walked over to Granite Island.

The looooooooooong way to the island. You can choose to walk or take the tram which is pulled by a very kesian looking horse. I think it costs AUD$7.00 for students. But why not walk instead? Seagulls will be your company!

This time, I went out the granite jetty instead of walking up the island.

I smell you, sea breeze.
Got attacked by the waves so my lens were wet hahahaha
Being there on the rocks made me think of home. Of Simpang Mengayau. Oh how I would love to go back to Kudat again!!!

So that's about it!!

Starting orientation tomorrow. Very very nervous again arrrrgh I feel like my lungs are about to fall off.

Abdate: What I ate in Adelaide

This post was supposed to be up by last night but then dunno why the pictures uploaded so slowly -.- So frustrating but anyhow, here are some stuff I ate here in Adelaide. It's not far different from what I eat back home hahaha Just a few pictures lah because normally I forgot to take pictures of what I'm eating and just chuck them down my throat.

Okay, sounds gross. I am sorry

In the morning I have the usual bread with milk/coffee/Milo. Bread here is really dense compared to the ones back home. I always struggle with just a single piece of bread every morning. And then I have to force down a cup of drink -.-

During lunch when I am home alone, I just fix up a simple meal to fill my stomach, or have some leftovers hahaha

For dinner I usually have more food because my cousin cooks hehehe I DID contribute to our meal okay, sometimes. I'm still no good of a chef mah, so I'm still learning hehe

Vietnamese! From a restaurant called Yen Linh. Went there the last time I visited hehehe I think this is the cold vermicelli combination salad? It has (obviously) vermicelli, roasted pork and spring rolls! It's a really big portion and I didn't finish it :/

My cousins took me out for dinner during Chap Goh Meh. We were supposed to eat at a chinese restaurant but it was full so we ended up in BBQ City, a kopitiam-like restaurant of which, we also visited back in 2012.

We ordered the 4 person set meal and I WAS SOOOOO FULL!

My cousin likes to make stir-fried pasta...

My attempt in making a perfect face-flat omelette ended up like this...

HAHAHAHA but it still tasted nice whad... *selfcompliments* hahaha

Curry rice from Marion food court. I should have ordered one curry instead of 2 because I wasn't able to finish this.

Wah here I sound like I'm such a small eater but in reality I am not! The portions are just TOO big!!

Yesterday I went to Ikea and Harbour Town. Settled lunch first in Ikea. Ordered the Quiche with salad but only took a picture of the salad -.-

I usually skip salads back home because I find that the vege is always soggy and just taste awful. Here though, they taste fresher and cleaner... hahaha but I'm not sure if they washed it lah but I think they did.

****** that's all. For now.

Looking at these food does make hungry. But I really miss my staple pan mien breakfast every week, my popo's cooking, my mom's cooking, my usual lunch/hangout place with my friends back home - McDonalds. Oh, and I also my favourite, Teh C.

WHYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!! *criesincorner*

Abdate: My CNY

I didn't bring my whole archive of photos and left it in the hard drive at home. So these photos are from my camera which I haven't transferred... until today. hahaha

Nothing special this Chinese New Year, except that I know that I was gonna leave after that week.

Dress for CNY day 1.
Got it in KL from Pink Evil's Fashion Supermarket, Mid Valley. The dress is from the brand Sugar & Spice. Wah this looks like an outfit-of-the-day photo HAHAHA I was bored after we came home from my grandmother's place so I decided to take some pics outside. I mean why not? Slippers are from Ipanema ARRRGH THEY WEREN'T ON SALE WHEN I BOUGHT IT BUT NOW THEY ARE #cheapo

My grandpa decided not to have his annual open house this year so I got the chance to go to Audrey's!

Love the garden background! Love us too hahaha see we all grown up liao. I remember first time we went to Audrey's for CNY open house we all so noob HAHAHAHA

Later that day we went to Marie's house. TWO BIG ROUNDS OF MAKAN YOU TELL ME HOW NOT TO BE FAT?! Took some photos in her room hahaha

I have no idea why I didn't bother to take pictures of food this year. Maybe because I was too pretty. ATTENTION ON ME PEOPLE! *flips hair*

*puke*

Scary or not? Aly spoiler as usual D:

Floral curtains are our bonus hahaha

Dunno why halfway during the 10-shot I decided to push Siaw HAHAHA and she ended up on the bed and couldn't stand up. Half fainted still do peace sign one this woman -.-

I went to Faith's house after that! So it was 3 houses in a row!! Super tired after but then I still went to my grandma's for dinner ohhhmai

Mom's family decided to do our annual photoshoot on day 3. Location this time was in my uncle's new bike shop! We shot before the shop was open though hehehe His Bike Shop (KSH BICYCLE) is now officially open for business! Do visit when you have time hahaha and buy a bike :) Drive up the Penampang bypass to Donggonggon, pass by CKS Millenium and another new shop lot and it's located at the next. I think that place is called Tropicana something something but it's very easy to spot! It's on the left side of the highway (:

See the bikes

Another round at Audrey's on Monday hehehe

On Thursday I spent helping my uncle in the shop, and then went out for Korean dinner with the Fifits. Supposed to have dinner with Huang before he leaves but then he said he couldn't make it in the end :(

blur selfie

Finally a food pic! Kim chi jiggae. Our usual hahaha

Ordered Winter Noodles for the first time. Tastes pretty good though :) hhehehehe

The ONLY decent photo of us all, which looks very indecent HAHAHA but this is the only one weih

Invited some of my friends over for dinner at my place, of which many didn't make it because it was Day 7 of CNY, which is supposed to be everyone's birthday that day... or something..

Again I haz no picture of the food. WHYY!!

The next day I helped my uncle in his new bike shop, and flew off to where I am now 24 hours later.

hehehe So that's all! Didn't get to eat as much kiu nyuk as I wanted today :( SADDDD
